pTuesday thoughts:br / *I can't wait for Mark to get home from his work conference. I miss him terribly, and so does Emily Grace.br / *Emily Grace has new glasses; she looks too grown up and I almost can't take it.br / *I'm glad it's cold outside. It finally feels like Thanksgiving!br / *I've already put out some of my Christmas stuff in the kitchen; I've never done it this early, but I just can't wait this year!br / *I love my iPhone.. I find something almost every day that I didn't know it could do!br / *I'm looking forward to Small Group this week. pI'm so glad tomorrow is Friday, I don't know what to do with myself. Sometimes the short weeks at school are the longest. Tomorrow night we're planning to visit a new restaurant in town. The owner's daughter attends my school, and it's supposed to be gourmet italian; no pizza! pI don't have a lot to say today; not a lot about one certain subject, anyway. So I'll just tell you about my weekend and thoughts in the short version./p pFriday night was Small Group. We had a good time, good discussions. It's fun to get together and just doing it every two weeks keeps everything fresh. pThis has been a great day off from school. Emily Grace went to work with Mark for the morning, so I got to sleep in! I met them for lunch and brought Emily Grace back home. pTonight Mark and Emily Grace are at a Girl Scout Father/Daughter movie night. They're watching HSM 3. I'm so glad I didn't have to go! So I'm enjoying a glass (or three) of wine, catching up on my computer time, and reading a bit./p pI have just joined Facebook. I know I must be the last civilized person to join.. everyone is already on! I have re-connected with some friends I haven't spoken to in a very long time. Mark has been bugging me for a while to join, but I'm just now getting the hang of using my iPhone and Twitter! pLast night was so much fun at UNC Charlotte. Emily Grace went trick o' treating at the residence halls and the Chancellor's house. Apparently, they do this every year for staff and faculty families. This was our first time attending, and Mark and I were most impressed by the effort the students put into this event. The Chancelor's house was beautiful, and they had the 49er out front to greet the kiddies. But the residence halls is where all the action was. pMark and I had a date night tonight. Emily Grace spent the night with my Mother so that Mark and I can go to the parent teacher conference in the morning at WHES. /p pWe had a really good supper at Ciro's. I had the tortellini bella roma and Mark had a chicken Caesar salad. We were treated to some accordion music by the owner. He's very good. Afterwards, we decided to hit Starbuck's for coffee and dessert instead of the Wine Vault. Conveniently, the Starbuck's was close to Trader Joe's. pLast night we had a really good Small Group meeting. We're studying the book of Luke and I think it's going to be an informative and interesting study. I love getting together with our friends and sharing our thoughts and feelings about what God is doing in our lives. pI have random thoughts swirling around in my head today. Not really a good thing, considering I am easily distracted even when I'm focused. But here are a few in no particular order:/p p1. Am I completely fooling myself to think that I can go back to school to get my BSN? Can I afford it? Can I make time for it? pLast night was our weekly Girl Scout meeting. We have 10 girls in our troop, and they just make me laugh and ask me a million questions. pToday was a weird day for me. I had a nurse helping me today at school, and while she was very helpful and I enjoyed getting to know her, I felt a little bad because I didn't have a whole lot for her to do. Also, my friend Sara put it best: It's like entertaining out of town guests. You feel like you're on stage. pIn my last post, which was quite a while ago, I talked about the lectures Mark and I had seen at UNC Charlotte. They were both very interesting, in very different ways. pI know, I know, it's been a long time since I've blogged. What can I say? I've been busy! I've been coming home from work and just vegging out in front of the tv; too tired to think straight, much less blog. But... enough excuses. pThe past few days have been so busy, my OCD is getting out of control. I can't get everything done that I emneed /emto do. Okay, so its not life-altering things... but it still makes me crazy to the point of not being able to sleep. This morning is the first time I can remember that I left the house without making my bed. pWe went to the Cabarrus County Fair on Saturday night. We went with my best friend, Wendy, and my God-children Noah and Sidney. Wendy's sister, her husband and their daughter and Wendy's parents also went. Emily Grace had such a good time. She rode all the kiddie rides, and some of the big rides. They all went on stage at one of the shows and danced and sang. pToday was really busy. It was a day for asthma attacks and unreachable parents. How can a mother look me in the face and tell me that she can't afford medicine/equipment that costs less than $20 for her child while she reeks of cigarette smoke? How can a father see a gash in his child's head that I've recommended a doctor look at to see if he needs stitches and tell me that he doesn't think his child needs stitches and that we should take better care of him at school? It's been a very busy time since school started. Trying to get myself and Emily Grace back into the swing of things has been difficult, and has resulted in some temper tantrums. Emily Grace has had a few, too.
