UNC Charlotte

I am a huge fan of Alfred app (http://alfredapp.com). It is easy to create custom searches with Alfred App. I created two searches for searching the UNC Charlotte faculty/staff/student directory. For additional functionality, there is also a faculty/staff reverse phone lookup. Check them out below. Clicking on the links should allow you to install them. Just type "unccdir" in the alfred search box to begin searching the campus directories!

Last Friday, the SUAR IT (Student Union, Activities and Recreation IT) Staff got together to watch WarGames. We had a couple off staff who had only seen this classic geek movie once or not at all. A few of us also took the time to write up some documentation for our department during this mini documentation sprint.

Following the movie, @cwind showed us his skills at the game Defcon.

The department I work for, got a mention about 2:30 into the video. We are the folks Peter mentions virtualizing OSX Leopard and Windows 2003 Server on Xserves.

Just received this ticket in our IT support ticket email box today. It has to be a joke. I can't believe it.. read on and enjoy... Name changed (slightly) to protect the innocent.

We had a great time at UNC Charlotte's International Festival last Saturday (9-27-2008). The weather cooperated beautifully. Most of the rain had ceased by the start of the event at 10am. Over 50 countries were represented this year. It is so awesome to checkout all of the items for sale and on display and to interact with peoples from all over the world in one place. The food is simply amazing too! Lots of good eats at very reasonable prices.
