IT Support Humor: This has to be a joke!

Just received this ticket in our IT support ticket email box today. It has to be a joke. I can't believe it.. read on and enjoy... Name changed (slightly) to protect the innocent.

"Message: Veronica would like to replace her keyboard (Dell) with one that doesn't make as much noise, that is if you have one available. The new one that she has (replaced recently) types with loud clicks when typing."

As Nick Burns says, "MOVE!!!"

Check out the blog article and video by Justin Ruckman at CLTBlog below:

http://cltblog.com/2008/10/beastie-boys-uncc/

I hate I missed it, but sounds like it wasn't much. They didn't perform. Just an appearance.

The weather cooperated beautifully. Most of the rain had ceased by the start of the event at 10am. Over 50 countries were represented this year. It is so awesome to checkout all of the items for sale and on display and to interact with peoples from all over the world in one place. The food is simply amazing too! Lots of good eats at very reasonable prices.

Setup Local Apache/MySQL/PHP Dev Environment in OS X Leopard

I have used MAMP for a long time, but I recently decided to build a development environment on my MacBook Pro to mirror my test and production servers. MAMP uses Apache 2.0 and I really wanted to run Apache 2.2. I also needed custom PHP for use with Oracle databases. I just want

ed to share the documentation to setup my development environment. Feel free to comment and let me know if you have any improvements.

How To Set Up an FTP Server in Windows Server 2003

I needed to install just the FTP service on Windows 2003 Server for one simple use case. The article below details how to accomplish this without installing full blown IIS (which I didn't need and do not want to run on this server).

Rocky River Band Plays at UNC Charlotte

I had a great time yesterday playing drums with the Rocky River Community Church Band at UNC Charlotte. We played the Staff Picnic for the second year in a row. We were not rained out this year, but the 97 degree heat beat us down pretty bad. We still had a great time and received a warm response from many of the picnic goers. Thanks to my band mates for volunteering to help out by playing at the event.
