[flickr-photoset:id=72157607546052825,size=m,class=floatright] We had a great time at UNC Charlotte's International Festival last Saturday (9-27-2008). The weather cooperated beautifully. Most of the rain had ceased by the start of the event at 10am. Over 50 countries were represented this year. It is so awesome to checkout all of the items for sale and on display and to interact with peoples from all over the world in one place. The food is simply amazing too! Lots of good eats at very reasonable prices.
Emily Grace is six this year and really enjoyed the festival. She was able to get a passport and then a stamp from each county she "visited" to remember her day. The education value for her attending I-Fest is excellent.
We all shared some pastries and desserts from Scandinavia and a sausage from Germany. Good stuff!
This year marks the 18th International Festival that I have attended at UNC Charlotte. It is one that our family never misses. You can't beat the price - $free. No parking or admission fees. Just pay for the food and wares that you want. The festival is usually the last Saturday in September. Try to make it out next year. You will not be disappointed.
