Decoupled Drupal with Flutter at Florida Drupalcamp

It was a pleasure to present "Decoupled Drupal with Flutter" at Florida Drupalcamp 2020. I want to thank the organizers, volunteers, attendees, presenters, and sponsors for making this camp so successful. I have wanted to attend this camp for a number of years and so happy to make it finally!

Flutter is a Google-developed open source UI toolkit for building amazing, natively compiled applications for mobile, web, and desktop from one codebase. Flutter is user and developer-focused around four vision pillars: beautiful, fast, productive, and open. While it is best known for helping launch mobile native apps, such as the official Hamilton app, it is now being used for building native desktop and web applications.

Mentorship Programs at Hygge Zero Day

It was a real honor to have the opportunity to speak at Hygge Coworking Zero Day today. Zero Day is a chance for the Hygge fam to take a break and learn a bit about the experiences and passions of others in the community. I really enjoy these days a lot, and not just because they occur on Fridays!

If you know me, you know I have a real heart for mentorship. Given that, it made sense for me to talk about the mentorship programs we facilitate at Mediacurrent. My hope is always that more people will think about mentorship in their own organizations and lives. Below you will find my slides and a mentorship podcast series I recorded on the goServeOthers Podcast.

Understanding Progressive Web Apps and Why You Should Care

I had the pleasure of presenting on PWAs (Progressive Web Applications) at DrupalCamp Atlanta 2019. I focused on the overall benefits of PWAs and how to set them up with GatsbyJS and Create React App. It turned out that Drupal PWAs were completely covered in the presentation Meet the Progressive Web App module by Christoph Weber and Alex Borsody. It was great to see so much attention given to the importance of PWAs!

I hope you checkout these PWA talks and related implementation techniques. There are big wins around making sure all of our websites and web applications utilize PWA related technology.
